Love this song, really uplifting
This is a great track. Really gets me smiling 🙂
Bob Marley One Love
It’s so hard to choose one song , I’ve settled on one I love singing along to with my daughter , David Guetta and Sia Titanium. We were lucky enough to see David Guetta this year and the look of my daughters face when this tune dropped will stay with me always 💕
I hope this song can bring you hope, love and happiness. Every time I’m struggling, going through hard situation this music helps me a lot. I hope helps all of you too!
Here’s a song that had a verse that helps remind me of friendships and being ‘seen’& loved and how it feels to give that back. Always gives me hope & reminds me we are all on a journey & never alone.
Keep your head up, Ben Howard
saw a friend of mine the other day
And he told me that my eyes were gleaming
I said I had been away
And he knew, oh, he knew the depths I was meaning
It felt so good to see his face
The comfort invested in my soul
To feel the warmth of his smile
When he said ‘I’m happy to have you home’
Oh-ohh, ‘I’m happy to have you home’
thank you, this song is just what i needed
Song: Monsters
I love this song!!!
Song: Hall Of Fame
A song with a positive message that I want to share with you: No one is mediocre forever, as long as you have a passionate heart and perseverance, time will reward you with the sweet fruits you deserve – the positive and encouraging message of this song will give you more energy to continue on your journey. No matter where the destination is, as long as you don’t stop, you will get there.
I’ve got a feeling by the Black Eyed Peas. This always makes me want to sing along and dance … hopefully it will help you on your running journey! What an inspiration you are Jimmy, good luck and really hope you inspire all those who suffer with poor mental health 🙏🏻
There is something spiritual about Lindisfarne’s Clear White Light which brings hope and optimism. I was lucky to see them performing live a few times. They weren’t pretty men but they delivered this beautiful song of hope beautifully, usually with audience participation.
Spotify has given me a long link but I guess you can find it. Here’s hoping!
A song that just makes me want to get up, shake off my troubles and have a boogie! It encourages me to keep moving forward! “You make my dreams come true” by Daryl Hall & John Oates
Proclaimers 500 miles as it makes me happy
Baby Yoda’s Chicky Nuggies over the Rainbow because I’m 13 and it makes me smile and be happy 😀
This is level 3 cheese, but it always gives me a lift. Have a blast (in the type 2 fun kind of way), and we are cheering you on from afar. Thinking of you and the family….
I recommend Dermot Kennedy’s songs! He was inspiring during a concert in Montreal a few years back. The one below is Better Days:
Follow, follow the sun
And which way the wind blows
When this day is done
Breath, breath in the air
Set your intentions
Dream with care
Tomorrow is a new day for everyone
A brand new moon, brand new sun
Xxxxxxxxxxxx
It’s all in those words – Xavier Rudd ‘ Follow the Sun’
You bring so much HOPE Jimmy
I’m still standing by Elton John.
A reminder that no matter how difficult times are, you have more in you, more people around you and you are enough! You will rise again and make it through even if there are bumpy paths, challenges and hurdles that seem impossible. Times will be good again!
Love My Life by Robbie Williams….”You are powerful, you are beautiful, you are free”…..❤️ Lyrics really resonate…
Makes me feel good!
Somewhere over the rainbow – Israel Kamakawiwo’ole
This song seems to bring me peace regardless of what mood I’m in. Magical.
Coldplay – clocks. Great early morning tune when the sun is coming up and you’ve got it all ahead of you. One for keeping faith and inspiring hope..
Good luck boys, will be watching!
Can’t help but share one more: Kris Delmhorst — “Wind’s Gonna Find a Way”:
I saw Skinny Love by Bon Iver played live at first gig I went to during a period of very long recovery from an accident. This song filled me with so much hope that everything was going to be ok. It still always reminds me that things do get better and that there is still beauty and enjoyment to be found in the world, even when there are challenges or if life ahead looks different to what you anticipated. Sending all of my love and support, and always happy to provide hopeful songs on request! James – the support you are providing is incredible
Revolution means change, don’t look at me strange,
So I can’t repeat what other rappers be sayin’
You don’t stand for something, you fall for anything,
Harder than you think, it’s a beautiful thing.
So many songs, I have a cheesy playlist that lifts me and keeps me moving during workouts. One of my favs from that is Missy Elliott 4 My People.
Riptide by Vance Joy always makes me happy
Clear White Light by Lindisfarne
One of my all-time songs of hope and empowerment is Jesus Jones: Right Here, Right Now. It’s an old one but still on fire (in all the good ways).
A woman on the radio talks about revolution
When it’s already passed her by
Bob Dylan didn’t have this to sing about
You know it feels good to be alive
I was alive and I waited, waited
I was alive and I waited for this
Right here, right now
There is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
Watching the world wake up from history
Oh, I saw the decade in, when it seemed the world could change
At the blink of an eye
And if anything
Then there’s your sign of the times
I was alive and I waited, waited
I was alive and I waited for this
Right here, right now
I was alive and I waited, waited
I was alive and I waited for this
Right here, right now
There is no other place I want to be
Right here, right now
Watching the world wake up from history
If I Had A Hammer in the version by the Neville Brothers lifts me every time

I have always found music to save my soul in times of trouble and stress. It has a wonderful power to lift and ground all at the same time.
I love your enthusiasm for reminding others that words and melodies have the power to wrap us up and give us hope.
Good luck with your race….
Sending energy to your loved one and wishing her strength and love.
-Joy and Pompeii both by Bastille
-Everybody’s free to wear sunscreen – has always and will always make me smile however clichéd it might have become
– Almost any song by Frank Turner but Not Dead Yet is something AM and I often play to remind ourselves to keep on keeping on in hard times
Let the light shine over you by Far from Saints
A reminder to “Pick up the things you love
Put down the things you don’t.”
So many songs…
1. Naughty from Matilda.
Reminds me that no matter how small we feel we have agency to change our story.
“Even if you’re little, you can do a lot, you
Mustn’t let a little thing like “little” stop you
If you sit around and let them get on top, you
Might as well be saying you think that it’s okay
And that’s not right
And if it’s not right
You have to put it right”
Heroes – David Bowie
So beautifully moving and uplifting, “we can all be heroes, just if for one day”.
Good luck up there!
Song: At Last, Etta James
We all have this moment. That second once we have reached a feat, or come to the end of something. Often I feel we never truly get to just stop and enjoy that moment. Life today forces you to move along, hurry up. But just stopping. Pausing. Taking that breath, and realising you are there. At last.
Lions – Skip Marley. It just picks me up when I’m down, and I have it on all my training soundtracks. And I’d have it for mile 10, 20, 30 etc up a mountain… good luck up there!
Boys do cry by Louis dunford. I can’t say this is uplifting as it brings me to tears every time I listen to it but for me, it’s a good reminder of why I do all the work I do in engaging with men and breaking stereotypes around masculinity. Until we recognise the need to re-engage men with their feelings, we are never going to fix this issue. And this song just speaks to that issue
(Something Inside) So strong by Labi Siffre. The title says it all! Gives me trust in myself and confidence when times are tough.
I’m a Believer by The Monkees!
Good luck for the race x
The Crossing by the late and truly great Johnny Clegg remains an anthem of hope and determination to transcend ‘dark land’ and find joy and inspiration. Best enjoyed with a stretched horizon of deep blue sky and yonders of African bushveld, or just high volume and vivid imagination works too!
Don’t let the devil take another day by the Stereophonics. This has an obvious call to arms to own your life, and it came out around lockdown in 2020 when work in the RAF was a daily challenge. I used to listen to this in the car on the way to work to get me in the right mindset and ensure I protected myself from unfair harshness.
Beautiful Day
This song for me conveys a message of hope and resilience even in the face of adversity. The lyrics suggest that even when things seem bleak and one feels lost or overwhelmed, there’s always the potential for a brighter future. Let’s hope so! Xx
Song: The Sound of Silence
For me the most beautiful song I heave ever heard
Song: My Silver Lining – First Aid Kit
I always feel as if this song could have been written about me and the paths I chose. I really like it
